Well after much encouragement from many friends I have decided that I will blog for Bailey and I. So I thought to start things off I will give a short review of our last year in Pahrump! We have officially lived here 1 year 3 months and 6 days, but who's counting. Bailey is a Fish Biologist for the endangered Devil's Hole Pup Fish and I am doing Social Work at an Outreach Center. We do both love our jobs, if only they were in Texas. Being a child from a very close and BIG Family I never thought I would leave the state of Texas. WOW what love and marriage will do to you! Bailey and I moved to Nevada 4 months after we were married! At the time it just felt right. Now I am starting to get a little impatient with the move back! I am ready to go home... I never really understood what home was until I really left and can't just get in the car and drive home in a couple of hours. Here some of the things we have be able to enjoy!

We started out live in Nevada in a 31 foot travel trailer. It was a great time and what a way to really learn about your new spouse! We did love it and it was quite cozy in the winter. We have now moved in to a little farm house just on the outskirts of town.

We rented this house because it has GRASS!!! Which is very rare in the Mohave Desert. Brandi, Maddie, and Cindy are doing great any love the big yard! In March we decided we would get some baby chickens. After they left my kitchen and into their own pen, they did very well. The dogs thought they were great, each dog actually lost weight for about a month. As you can see it was a very intense time.

They are all doing well, although there was a phase when Brandi thought the chickens were there for her choice of snack. But we still have 11 of the 15 and have more than enough eggs! For our 1 year anniversary we went and stayed on Mt. Charleston, which is only about an hour from the house, but you can see it. It is the tallest peak in Southern Nevada and get snow every year. It is very interesting to be in jeans and t-shirts and look up and the mountain is covered with snow! In this picture we are standing in front of a Joshua Tree (cactus) and Mt. Charleston is in the background with snow.

In February Bailey went to Florida to get his Cave diving certification. I did not know the intensity of cave diving until he returned and I think that was probably for the best. He is now officially a part of the Devil's Hole Dive Team.
He got to give Devil's hole for the first time in April and he was do excited and he loves it. Here is a picture of him in the hole.
For my big news me and my mom have started a business, Madalyn's Madness. We love it and are having a great time with it, although no outside sales yet. I know they will come! I hope you have enjoyed the long blog, I the future they will be shorter I promise! We travel back to Texas as often as we can and can't wait to get back and stay!
